So many of us are starting to travel or have upcoming plans to and some of us have “travel anxiety” whether you are nervous about flying or just being around a lot of people since the pandemic has been going on so very long. May is Mental Health Awareness month. For the past year fifteen months mental health in our family has been a priority. We have learned to treat it just as you would like getting sick with the flu or a broken bone or anything physical going on with us. It has been ongoing and just so important not to neglect. I think many of us feel such shame if we admit we are not ok and it is seen as a weakness but really it is a strength to ask and get help and to know when to have tough love too, the kind that can help save someone’s life instead of just enabling them and making it worse. I am guilty of that in the past and still working on it. I just wanted to touch on how important mental health is and if you need help, please reach out to someone you trust, as well as if you know someone is hurting to not ignore and just “hope” it will go away.
